Wickham is a historic village in the Meon Valley, north of Fareham. The village has a handsome square, a medieval bridge, and a history stretching back to the Saxon period. William of Wykeham, founder of Winchester College and New College Oxford, was born here in 1320. The village hosts one of Hampshire's best-known community events, the Wickham Festival.
