Hamble Point Marina

undefined, Solent News

Hamble Point Marina sits at the mouth of the River Hamble where it meets Southampton Water, and is one of several large marinas that make the Hamble one of the premier yachting rivers on the south coast. The marina has over 230 berths and caters to both cruising and racing yachts, with full boatyard facilities, a chandlery, and a waterside restaurant and bar. The River Hamble is home to an estimated 3,000 boats on permanent moorings, and the concentration of marinas, boatyards, and sailing clubs along its banks is unmatched anywhere in Britain. Hamble Point's position at the river mouth gives it easy access to the Solent sailing grounds, and many of the yachts that compete in the Round the Island Race, Cowes Week, and other major regattas are based here. The marina is a short walk from Hamble village and the foreshore, where the footpath leads along the river bank towards Warsash and the Solent shore. The area around the marina is rich in birdlife, with saltmarsh and mudflat habitats fringing the river channel.
