Marine Parade is the broad seafront promenade that defines Lee-on-the-Solent, running for over a mile along the Solent shore with uninterrupted views across to the Isle of Wight. The parade was laid out in the late Victorian period when Lee was developed as a genteel coastal resort, and the wide tree-lined road, with its grass verges and beach shelters, retains a spacious, unhurried character. The seafront is backed by a mix of Victorian and Edwardian villas, post-war housing, and a scattering of cafes, restaurants, and shops. The beach is shingle, shelving to sand at low tide, and is popular with swimmers, paddleboarders, and windsurfers. The Lee-on-the-Solent Sailing Club occupies a prominent position on the seafront, and dinghies and small craft are regularly launched from the beach. Marine Parade connects to the wider coastal path, running west towards Hill Head and Titchfield Haven and east towards Gosport and Stokes Bay. The seafront is a focal point for community life in Lee, hosting summer events, charity swims, and the annual beach clean.
