Gosport Road (Fareham, B3385)
Street guide, Solent News
Gosport Road is a B-road running through the southern parts of Fareham, providing a local route parallel to the main A32 corridor. It passes through residential areas south of Fareham town centre and connects with routes toward Stubbington and Hill Head. The road is lined with a mix of housing, from Victorian terraces near the town centre to more modern estates further south. The road carries a significant volume of local traffic, particularly residents travelling between Fareham town centre and the suburbs to the south. It connects with Newgate Lane and the routes toward Stubbington, making it part of the wider network that serves the western side of the Gosport peninsula. Bus services run along parts of its length. Gosport Road should not be confused with the A32, which is the main Fareham to Gosport trunk road running to the east. This B-road serves a more local function, connecting residential areas with Fareham's shops, schools, and station. The road can be busy at school run times and during evening commuter hours, but it does not suffer the same level of congestion as the A32 corridor.
