Titchfield Road

Street guide, Solent News

Titchfield Road connects Fareham with the village of Titchfield to the south-west, running from the western side of Fareham town centre through residential areas and out into the countryside around the River Meon. The road is a busy local route, particularly at commuter times, as it serves housing areas on the western side of Fareham and provides access to Titchfield and the coast beyond. The road passes through mixed residential areas before reaching the outskirts of Titchfield, where the character changes to a more village-like setting. It connects with the road network serving Stubbington, Hill Head, and Lee-on-the-Solent, making it part of the wider commuter routes in the western Fareham area. Titchfield Road is also a route used by visitors heading to Titchfield Haven National Nature Reserve, one of the most important bird habitats on the south coast. The road crosses the River Meon near Titchfield, where the historic village and its abbey ruins lie just off the main road. While not the most scenic route in the area, it is a practical and well-used link between Fareham and the villages and coast to the south-west.
